2016 marks Jared White’s adventure back to San Diego to join Plant With Purpose as the Program Officer for Burundi, Tanzania, and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Jared acts as the liaison to the programs in Africa, working with local leadership to plan activities, monitor and evaluate performance, and develop local capacity to facilitate a high-impact transformational development process.
For 10 years Jared lived and worked in Uganda expanding his experience and passion for international development. He co-founded Pulse Village Transport Limited, an innovative social enterprise that manufactures and distributes locally assembled motorcycle ambulances that address the needs for critical medical transportation in rural communities of Uganda. Prior, he worked for Invisible Children serving as the director of Invisible Children’s efforts on the ground in Uganda. Jared oversaw program implementation, and operations. He supervised a team of 100+ people while working closely with the San Diego headquarters. Jared has his MA in International Development from Eastern University’s School of Leadership and Development and a BA from Biola University.
Jared and his wife Doreen are excited to call San Diego home, and after living in a landlocked country for 10 years, plan to spend much time near the ocean.
