**Insect repellent will not only help keep the nuisances away, but also reduce the chance that you're exposed to an insect-borne disease. Tip: Use a spray with 30% DEET, not 100% DEET since it has fewer health risks.

***If you aren't sure whether or not the place you're staying provides towels, ask your trip leader. You may pack a small, lightweight, absorbent travel towel.
