Plant With Purpose Joins World Religious Leaders in Call to Care for Creation Ahead of COP26

September 15, 2021

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 15, 2021 – Following a joint statement by Pope Francis, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), Plant With Purpose, a leading Christian environmental organization in the United States issued the following statement:

“Plant With Purpose firmly believes Christ calls us to care for the Earth and for our neighbors, especially those who are the most vulnerable. We are also called to unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

“Last week Orthodox Christians, Anglicans and Catholics -- three major branches of the Church -- came together urging Christians to ‘listen to the cry of the Earth’ and take action to better care for both the planet and our neighbors in need. Plant With Purpose joins these leaders in the call for Christians around the world to come together honoring our common love of Jesus and our common call to care for our planet and our neighbors."
