As Country Director for Tanzania, Richard is responsible for managing our overall operations within Tanzania. He plays a pivotal role in delegating and directing agendas and strategy, setting annual plans, making sure organizational resources are effectively utilized, and communicating with stakeholders. Richard is passionate about helping others improve their lives, and has always been someone who wanted to help people, rather than just helping himself. Working as a country director with us gives him an opportunity to contribute in reversing poverty and restoring a degraded environment.

Richard earned his Master's Degree in Business Management from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute. He also has his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Sokoine University. Through his time with us, he has helped grow the program from 1,600 families to 11,100 direct beneficiaries and over 50,000 indirect beneficiaries. Over 11 years, he’s also succeeded in reducing the cost per beneficiary by more than 500%. His passion is to share the knowledge of ecosystem health with people and the importance of organic farming in improved health and fighting hunger. Through his dedicated leadership, it was possible for our Tanzania program to receive the certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Agriculture for successfully supporting ecological organic agriculture within the country.
