As the GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist, Sofia works with the Innovation Lab to address impacts of climate change on watershed health and conduct analyses on collected data. Sofia enjoys making beautiful maps and has a lot of fun getting lost in the details when it comes to mapping data in her role.

Sofia has extensive experience collecting, studying, and analyzing aerial imagery from airplanes, drones, and satellites. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Geography with Environmental Science from University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. She then went on to get her Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology from University of Wisconsin - Madison. She is proud to have recently completed the 2022 Emergency Response Book for a county in Wisconsin and for getting her FAA Remote Pilot License for drones. Sofia has a minor in art and enjoys various creative endeavors, which complements her love for GIS and remote sensing.
