In one of our Haitian watersheds, community members are using the A-Frame to find the contour line, so they can plant erosion-preventing grasses and crops.

Planting rows of the right kinds of crops and grasses can slow the flow of rainwater downhill by acting as mini-dams. This provides more time for the soil to absorb nutrients that help plants grow. This boosts crop yields and reduces erosion.
